BMW E12 520

BMW E12 is the executive sedan which was first introduced in 1971 and its production was halted in 1981 in West Germany. This car was a development of the BMW Neue Klasse Sedans (New Class Sedan), the forerunner of the BMW 5 series first. Around the world, all the BMW E12 is only available as a 4-door sedan with a manual transmission with a choice of 4-cylinder M10 engine and the 6-cylinder M20. Specific to the market of the United States and Japan available automatic transmission option 3 acceleration. 


The car was designed by Paul Bracq who also designed a range of Citroën, Peugeot, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz. The original design of the BMW E12 took the design of the BMW Garmisch 2200ti concept car which was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show of the year 1970. BMW 2200ti Garmisch was designed by Gruppo Bertone nationals Italy. In 1976, the BMW E12 facelift suffered in the form of the wider backlight, hood, to the position of the enhanced air ventilation. Because of the vehicle tax system in Indonesia less favor to engine capacity above 2000cc, Indonesia only guaranteed 4-cylinder M10.
